Job type: A part-time fixed term contract for 12 months, working three days a week or 21 hours per week subject to discussion.

About TimeBank

TimeBank is a national volunteering charity. We run volunteering projects which are designed to tackle social issues from supporting asylum seekers and refugees to working with ex-services men and women struggling to make a sustainable transition to civilian life. Since 2013 we've run hugely successful volunteer-led English language classes for Muslim women. We know the difference volunteers can make and are constantly expanding our tried and tested volunteer mentoring model. In addition, we run employee volunteering programmes to encourage companies to get their employees volunteering in their local communities.

Purpose of the role

This is a new role designed to support the Chief Executive and Programme Manager with fundraising and income generation for the charity. At an exciting point in TimeBank's development we are looking for an experienced fundraising and development professional who will take a fresh look at TimeBank's fundraising model and help us grow, recruit more volunteers and change more lives.

The role will involve researching funding opportunities, helping to identify and develop new projects and exploring new funding for existing and previous schemes.

The Fundraising and Business Development Coordinator will help to write trust funding applications and work directly with the Chief Executive on Government and Lottery bids. In addition, there’s an exciting element of Business Development supporting the expansion of our Employee Volunteering programme working directly with companies.

As a member of our small, committed team you will also support the finance function to keep track of funders reporting requirements and timelines and play a pivotal role in diversifying TimeBank’s funding streams.

This role could suit someone who is looking for a stimulating part-time opportunity, or it could form part of a consultancy portfolio.

What you need to know:

  • This is a brand new role and we are looking for someone to start as soon as possible.
  • You will be outcomes-focussed and will hit the ground running with this project.
  • In a competitive market, you will identify sources of funding for new and existing projects and help TimeBank write outstanding funding applications.
  • You will also work with the team to help us to market and deliver our successful employee volunteering programme. You will have a good knowledge of the range of funders who support charities – and in particular charities like TimeBank whose volunteers tackle a range of social issues.
