About TimeBank and RISE

TimeBank is a national volunteering charity. We run volunteering projects which are designed to tackle social issues head on, from social exclusion to digital inclusion. We know the difference volunteers can make – that’s why we are working as a delivery partner with Renaisi to recruit, train and support volunteer mentors who will help sustain refugees in employment. Renaisi has been awarded funding from the Big Lottery and European Social Fund as part of the Building Better Opportunities programme to deliver the RISE project.

Purpose of the role

To coordinate the delivery of the Refugees Into Sustainable Employment (RISE) project across London. You will recruit, train and manage a small team of volunteer mentors who will provide support to refugees who are referred to us by Renaisi.

By matching refugees with mentors, the refugees will benefit from receiving out of work support to ensure they stay in employment. With the support of a mentor, the refugees will be encouraged to develop some of the less tangible, but equally important employment skills such as better inter-personal-relationships in the workplace; time-keeping, resilience and problem solving.

Who you are:

You will hit the ground running with this project – you will need to couple meticulous attention to detail with the ability to communicate effectively with our volunteers and the refugees we are supporting. You will need to be prepared to deliver the hours flexibly to meet the needs of the beneficiaries - this will mean some of the work takes place outside of traditional office hours.
