W3C WAI Accessibility Guidelines

We endevour to comply wherever possible with Level AA of the W3C's WAI accessibility guidelines and in accordance with RNIB and other recommendations. 

Accessibility Features

Enlarge the font 

By clicking on the varying sized 'A' icons you can enlarge or reduce the font size. If you need more control over font size then both Internet Explorer, Firefox and Safari have many built in adjustments available:

Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0, 6.0 and 5.5

  • Open Internet Explorer
  • Choose the drop down menu at the top of the window of the browser marked "view"
  • A list of options will appear in the drop down menu, choose "text size"
  • Next another drop down menu should appear with options including small, medium, large, largest
  • Select largest.

Mozilla Firefox

  • Open Firefox
  • Choose the drop down menu at the top of the window of the browser marked "view"
  • A list of options will appear in the drop down menu, choose "text size
  • Next another drop down menu should appear with options "Increase" and "Decrease"
  • Select "Increase" to make the text larger.

Apple Safari 1.2 and 2.0

  • Open the Apple Safari browser
  • Hold down the Apple Key and press the (+) key
  • This enlarges the text, repeat the procedure to enlarge further
  • Keep repeating until the text is large enough
  • To make the text smaller press the Apple Key and press the (-) key

Contrast / Background colour

We will soon be introducing an option to change background colour on the site
