Engage is an exciting new project that matches volunteer mentors with young people living in Birmingham who are seeking employment under the 'Destination Work' programme.

Engage supports these young people lo reach their full potential by learning new skills and delivering a community project of their choice.

Through the programme they will have the opportunity to develop new skills in:

  • project planning
  • budget management
  • communications
  • marketing

These skills will make them more employable or more able to set up their own enterprise in future.

The young people will also be supported throughout by a volunteer mentor who will help them overcome the issues and barriers they face and will support them to develop and deliver their community project.

If you are a young person living in Birmingham and would like to get involved in mentoring a young person, please contact the project co-ordinator Rachel Harding at RachelH@timebank.org.uk

The project is funded by Birmingham City Council's Provision without Strings grants programme.
