Lots of smaller charities might not have the resources for a dedicated marketing and PR person.  So charities are often crying out for voluntary help from budding marketing and PR professionals. The best thing to do is chose a charity or cause you feel passionate about and contact them directly. Smaller charities in your local area may be the best place to start as larger national charities will often have dedicated communications teams.
