Leaders Together is a London based mentoring project, matching leaders from small charities, social enterprises and community groups with senior professionals from a wide variety of backgrounds.
According to the Charity Commission, 88% of 152,502 registered charities in 2012 had an income under £500,000 and 43% had an annual income under £10,000. The majority of charitable organisations out there are operating on minute budgets.
Small charities and community groups are typically passionate about their purpose, but because of limited resources like time and money, aren't always in the best position to deliver it as well as they like. They may need a bit of extra support with things like writing business plans and developing strategy. This is where senior professional volunteer mentors come in.
We're delighted to announce that City Bridge Trust has made us a grant of £80,000 to continue and expand the Leaders Together project over the next two years.
We're sorry but we've had so much interest in the project that we are not able to take on any more mentors or mentees at present.
"Ben has been an amazing support and I can really see the effect of the mentoring relationship on Rewrite's development. We are definitely in the best shape ever! Although we have come to the end of our six months, Ben is still acting as an advisor on a more informal basis. Thank you so much for linking us up."
