Parents First is a TimeBank mentoring project that supports parents to get to grips with computers and the internet.
The project matches parents in the London Borough of Lambeth with a mentor aged 18 - 25. Mentors support the parents in playing a more active role in their children’s development by using the internet. This could be things like accessing school services online, learning about online safety and finding out about recreational activities for all the family.
Parents First started in March 2011. It has been made possible thanks to funding from the Cicely Northcote Trust, a charity that addresses the health and social care needs of people living in South London.
The project has now ended - but do check out the website for other mentoring opportunities.
