"As other past volunteers have mentioned, there's a very good and supportive atmosphere around the office. I always felt included and comfortable with contributing my opinions and suggestions. Given the size of the team, there is a good opportunity to work on a variety of issues, and everybody is keen to ensure that interns come away with diverse experience. The projects that interns work on largely depend on what's going on at any given time, as well as the individual's interests; I'd recommend anyone thinking about volunteering to reflect on what aspect of the organisation they find most compelling, and to feel free to suggest what their particular contribution might be."Help and adviceMade a differenceWould do again

Teaching in London schools
"I really enjoyed working as volunteer with the Employability Forum. This projected contributed a lot in developing my confidence especially being granted a refugee status in UK shortly. This also helped me to integrate with the school communities and the UK society as well. I really used my potential and teaching skill that I brought from my country and the skills I gained from the project. Looking at the feedback received from both the pupils and teachers after my teaching, I understood how much I changed their level of awareness about refugees and the causes to leave their beloved country. Indeed the project is a window of opportunity of change for both the refugees and UK schools. Bereket"Help and adviceMade a differenceWould do again

"This was a really amazing opportunity to experience what working on refugee policy issues is actually like. I got to be really involved in the organisation and was given specific projects to develop and build a connection with. I feel like I have gained more confidence and skills to apply to future work. Everyone is so nice and truly invested in their interns. I highly recommend the internship."Help and adviceMade a differenceWould do again
