Samera Aslam

Samera graduated from the University of Birmingham with a First Class BA (Hons) in English Language & Literature in 2008. A keen advocate of the benefits of volunteering, her own voluntary activities include mentoring, outreach work to widen access and participation in Higher Education and more recently, a development placement overseas.
Prior to joining the Home Office UK Border Agency as an Asylum Case Owner, Samera carried out an internship with the Race Equality and Diversity Division of the Department for Communities and Local Government. She has also worked at Midland-based housing association – Ashram, responsible for the delivery of a calendar of events disseminating best practice in community cohesion.
Samera joins TimeBank with her strong interest in social policy and research and extensive experience of engaging with young people and BME communities to increase levels of civic participation.
