Engage Project

Engage was a project project that matched volunteer mentors with young people living in Birmingham who were seeking employment under the ‘Destination Work’ programme.

Engage supported those young people to reach their full potential by learning new skills and delivering a community project of their choice.

Through the programme they had the opportunity to develop new skills in:

  • project planning
  • budget management
  • communications
  • marketing

Those skills made them more employable or more able to set up their own enterprise in the future.

The young people were supported throughout by a volunteer mentor who helped them overcome the issues and barriers they faced and supported them to develop and deliver their community project.

The project wass funded by Birmingham City Council’s Provision without Strings grants programme.
