- Grindrod Logistics as an asset audit specialist in Southern Africa
- GIZ as Team Leader tasked with developing a Fleet Management System and Asset Management Policy for the Government of Malawi (on behalf of the German Government)
- The Samsun Logistics Centre (SLC) funded by the EU in Samsun Turkey as a business planning expert (on behalf of the EU)

In the last ten years, Bert broadened his focus to include personal finance in the UK, which led to him founding TimeBank.
As someone with a good grasp of financial concepts in a corporate environment, he found himself needing to make difficult financial decisions in his personal life, but lacking the necessary tools.
He founded TimeBank with a team of experienced finance writers and experts to help demystify topics such as Equity Release, Lifetime Mortgage, Home Reversion, Retirement Interest Only Mortgage and SIPPS, for people like himself.
In his free time, he encourages the Time Bank team to join him in various philanthropic initiatives.
